Same but different is a series of collage — drawings comprised of representations of the interior and the exterior parts of the human body and natural elements added to them which made me think of each other and which looked like these body parts.
Through my work, I want to show the beauty of mother nature and my feelings as a human being carrying features of the world in which we live. We are connected to the Earth, not only by our physical appearances, but also, we have the same living systems in terms of organisms.
Although nature was perfect at its origin, everything that we see at present time is not or no more perfect or symmetrical; there are imperfections. We, human beings also, have imperfections but also organs that are similar to some fruits, leaves or tree branches which make us think that we are a part of this nature. My drawings are visualizations of these resemblances, differences and imperfections.
This artwork relates to the themes of the show — embodiment, grounding, growth, and transformation by reflecting the deep connection between the human body and the evolving natural environment.
